£1.5 million donated by Freemasons to life-saving air ambulance services
Every year the air ambulance services in England and Wales save thousands of lives by providing rapid medical care in emergencies. Since 2007, Freemasons have donated more than £1.5 million in support, including this year’s grant of £192,000 from The Freemasons’ Grand Charity.
Speaking about the donation Laura Chapman, Chief Executive of The Freemasons’ Grand Charity, said:
“A great many lives would be lost without the swift life-saving help provided by the air ambulance doctors and paramedics. This is why Freemasons are passionate about supporting the air ambulance services in England and Wales. Air ambulance charities are reliant on voluntary donations to operate, and we hope that our contributions will help them to continue saving lives in the future.”

The Freemasons’ Grand Charity is a grant-making charity dedicated to supporting people in need, having donated more than £100 million since 1981. We provide grants that have totalled nearly £8 million each year in the areas of: medical research, support for vulnerable people, youth opportunities, hospice services, air ambulances, and disaster relief and assistance to Freemasons and their dependants in financial need.

Every time the ladies meet for an evening dinner they hold a raffle or an auction or some other fund raiser.
This goes to flowers for special occasions and for ladies who are not well, as well as a donation to the charity chosen by the lady whose husband or partner is Worshipfull Master.
